National parks in Ukraine (Part 1)

Horhany national park

Horhany (Gorgany), Chornohory (Chornohora/Chornogory/Chornogora) and Svydovets, the highest part of the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains. Organized in 1996.

Crimea natioanl park

Crimea natioanl park  is one of the oldest in Ukraine. Created in 1923. In  this  natioanl park  grows almost 1200 species, of which 58 are endemic and 70 - rare, there are more than 200 species of vertebrates, 93 of them listed in the Red Book.

Caradag national park

Caradag national park has been created in 1979, the reserve protects Europe's only Jurassic period rocky shoreline massif.

Yavoriv National Natural Park

The National park is situated in the Lvivs’ka Oblast in Western Ukraine.
The park was created in 1998 and so is still quite new even though the beautiful wooded forest-steppe has been in existence long before then. The national park has both man-made and natural treasures. The main trees to be found here are oak, pine-oak, alder and hornbeam-oak. There are about 700 different species of plant which can be found in this beautiful park and at least 40 of them are precious enough to be listed in the Ukraine Red Book.

The Chornomorskyi Biospherical Reserve

The Chornomorskyi Biospherical Reserve has been organized in 1927, is vital for the protection of migrating and nesting birds. Some 300 species of birds reside in the reserve. It also plays a significant role in education and scientific studies.

Dunai Biosphere Reserve
[Image]
Located in the extreme southwest of Ukraine, in Kili region Odessa region. Flora of the Dunai Biosphere Reserve includes about 950 species of vascular plants belonging to 371 genus and 97 families.
